The Ogge Music Festival – an annual event

This year, in 2012, the Ogge music festival is celebrating its 10th anniversery. 10 years ago the Åsmund Åmli band played at the first festival, standing at the back of a lorry. It was a rainy evening in June, with thousands of mosquitos. The weather was so awful, that we had to take the arrangement indoors. Despite the extremely bad weather, we had hundreds of guests. During the following years the festival has been arranged on the 2nd weekend in August, after all the major festivals in the area were finished. All the years we have had a loyal audience that turn up at one of the nicest festivals in southern Norway. Our musical profile has always been country/rock and folk songs, and we have invited mainly local bands and artists. We have a large outdoor area for dancing, and many of the audience take the opportunity to use it. The festival has always been characterized by cheerfulness, friendly artists and guests. Our kitchen provide the camping guests with breakfast, during the day we have à la carte, and as the evening meal we serve out popular stew. The Ogge Music Festival 2012 took place on Fri./Sat. 10th/11th of August. We had a full house and good weather. A tip for next year: Remember to make a reservation at the camping site in good time, because the space is limited. We also have some camping huts that can be rented. Come join us for – as earlier guests have put it – ‘the nicest festival in southern Norway’!
